Getting to Jersey

Flying

Getting to Jersey by air is a great option as it is much faster than the ferry. The flight is normally between 20 -30 minutes. There are 2 main airlines to choose from, although certain locations may also be able to fly with BA or Easy Jet.

Blue Island - For those who prefer a more independent feel. Blue Island is a small airline, which means they have a much more grass roots attitude. When flying from Jersey or Guernsey they have a private lounge stocked with free drinks and snacks. It is worth being aware that these planes are very small, in fact you can see out the front window. There is also no over head lockers, so any hand luggage gets put in a shared cupboard at the back of the aircraft. They fly from UK locations including Bournemouth, Bristol, London City and Southampton.

Flybe - This is a good airline, probably better for nervous flyer's as the aircraft is a bit bigger and feels more sturdy (although of course Blue Islands is very safe). You might find this airline more expensive, especially if you have a lot of luggage but it really depends. They fly from many location across the UK including Cardiff, London (Gatwick and Lutton) and Southampton.

Sailing

Condor Ferries - If you would rather travel by sea then you have 3 location options, Poole, Weymouth or Portsmouth. The ferry is also a good option if you wish to bring your car, large amounts of duty free or luggage. Better in nice weather as you can stand outside and watch the island coast line go by, the ferry also features a duty free shop, cafe serving hot and cold food and drinks and a children's play area.

From Poole - Will take approx. 4 hours 40 minutes

From Weymouth - Will take approx. 4 hours 15 minutes

From Portsmouth  - Will take approx. 9 hours (over night usually)
