About the Couple

In the beginning

Jamie and Domi met at Southampton Solent University, where they both studies on the BA (Hons) Journalism degree. It was Domi who noticed Jamie on the induction day (like I'm not going to notice someone that gorgeous!!) When having dinner with her folks that night they inquired as to how her first day had been she replied, 'There is this REALLY hot guy. Seriously he looks like he fell off of MySpace!' 

In fact it was through the internet (more specifically MSN messenger) that Domi pursued Jamie. He started to talk to her, initially thinking she was a different girl! The conversation developed and they ended up going on a date...to the pub! Everything went very well, and they both hoped to see each other again. They then started walking to class together and meeting up more often, Jamie was going to teach Domi how to play bass without her thumb!

Their relationship continued to grow stringer but Domi proclaimed that it was 'too emotional' (what a loser!!) She was conflicted having not intended to get into a relationship at uni (neither had Jamie but he's not such a drama queen) Eventually Domi decided to ask Jamie to be her boyfriend. 'Are you my boyfriend,' he then replied, 'Yup. Are you my girlfriend?' 'Yup.' Awwww....how romantic!

Moving in

Over the next few years they went from strength to strength until in the 2nd year Domi ended up spending a lot of time at Jamie's shared house. His other housemates did not take kindly to this and said Domi could not spend so much time there. Already feeling excluded in her own shared house, and so far free Jersey Domi got very upset and told Jamie she didn't feel like she had a home, she didn't have a safe place to go. Jamie being the Prince Charming he is immediately declared that she would always have a home with him and they would move in to a flat just the two of them immediately. A few months later they moved into Portland Street. 

The proposal

Both Domi and Jamie started to feel they wanted to confirm the status of their relationship and solidify their commitment as something more than boyfriend and girls friend. That is why on the 3rd of June 2009 Jamie proposed to Domi. The couple choose an engagement ring together, but Domi did not know when, where or how it would eventually be presented to her. 

It was a very romantic proposed. The couple went out to Beau Port Bay (in Jersey) and walked out to one of their favourite spots. Unknowing that Jamie has slipped the engagement ring in her bag, so she carried it as they walked!! They sat down on a beach looking out over the ocean and began to eat their croissants. Domi was really enjoying the morning and was ready to head back to the car when Jamie took her over to the edge of the cliff. Now this could have gone a very different way! Thankfully he held her hand, looked deep into her eyes and began telling her how much he loved her, and how wonderful she is. He then got down on one knee and asked her to marry him!!! Domi was over joyed and as tears started to come to her eyes she said 'YES!!!'
